Mount Isa is a city in northwestern Queensland and the city was primarily established to service the many workers in the local mineral deposits. The Mount Isa Mines is one of the most productive in world history and it mines lead, silver, copper and zinc. The city has a population of close to 25,000 and Mount Isa is a significant administrative centre for the region.
